The Willow Tree Cafe Gallery sits quietly on Comber Square, offering a blend of cozy café vibes and a small, intimate art gallery. This spot works well as a midday pause for locals looking to step into a calm atmosphere that feels both creative and welcoming.

Inside, seating is limited to about ten guests, mixing soft chairs and tall tables that encourage a relaxed, unhurried visit. Upstairs, there is additional space where the cafe continues, which gives a sense of a tucked-away hideaway rather than a high-traffic coffee stop. The shop is often staffed by the resident artist, who works on paintings in a studio area at the back, so visitors can genuinely feel the creative energy behind the walls.

Drink offerings focus on carefully prepared coffee and tea, including various espresso options and herbal teas. Homemade scones and traybakes feature prominently and are a draw for those after something sweet with their cup. Portions tend to be generous, and the food carries a homemade quality, suggesting attention beyond the typical cafe fare.

The Willow Tree feels particularly suited for visitors who appreciate local art and want a quieter spot for a chat or some contemplation, rather than a quick caffeine fix. Families with children have also found it approachable, especially with sweet treats that appeal to younger tastes. The owner and staff maintain a friendly openness that encourages lingering.

Given its scale and ambiance, the best time to visit might be mid-morning to mid-afternoon during weekdays or quieter weekend windows, where you can enjoy the art and atmosphere without rush. Its location in Comber lends it a local character, fitting well among the small businesses around The Square, serving as a modest yet vibrant node for art and community connection.

A small cafe , art gallery on Comber Square. Seating for about 10 on soft seats and a few tall tables. Scones, traybakes, cake served here with the full cafe upstairs. The artist is usually the server and continues with his work in the rear studio area. His style of art can be seen and purchased from here.

Huge portions, beautiful homemade food, brilliant local recommendations for travel, and devastated we didn't pay more attention and realise original artwork that we've been looking at since we've returned to Airbnb what a gorgeous local gem

So happy we came across this restaurant. The staff and owner were friendly and helpful. Our breakfasts were delicious. Our son especially enjoyed the sweet pancake stack with bananas and blueberries. We couldn't resist buying some baked goods on the way out either.

I LOVED this place!! It's awesome! Loved the desserts we had, they were so delicious and light, tea was perfect! And the atmosphere was so lovely. I'm coming back again from America (New Jersey) just for the desserts!!!

This is a beautiful gallery cafe in the heart of beautiful Comber. What a delightful place to have scones/traybakes and tea or coffee. The owner Craig is so welcoming and the decor is amazing! Best Coffee about!! A lovely rich crema on coffee and decaf coffee! Second time we ve been and we ll keep coming back. Our dog was spoilt with his 'pupachino' which is cream! Definitely a top place to visit with or without your pooch. The paintings are fantastic too by Craig himself. Very talented guy. 5 stars!
